Although comes across as expensive upfront, they are thorough and more efficient. The entire treatment is completed in a specific time. The only centre to provide longer duration of appointments to fully hear your needs. Hence, overall costs by drawn out ineffective treatments are not practised at this centre.
We actively work on our unsatisfied client reviews. We would encourage our clients to openly discuss your concerns if any, during your engagement with us so that our services can cater to your realistic expectations.
We do not believe in the idea of a best specialist. However, a good specialist is a domain knowledge expert, has vast experience, has rich lived life experience, is passionate to his/her expertise, dedicated, kind and comforting, and provides personalised solutions.
We would suggest the first appointment atleast to be in person. We have observed that clients usually prefer attending in person and choose centres near to their residence. However, we do provide teleconsultation and video consultation all over India and to NRI’s.
Counselling is guidance provided by a trained counsellor. Psychologist provides specific aspects of training and delivers targeted treatments for specific conditions. Psychotherapist completes the initial assessment to determine various cognitive, emotional, and behavioural elements of treatment. He/she also provides interventions in complex narratives and lived experiences of clients. He/she will also determine what is abilities/limitations/mental illness/psychological needs/coaching & training needs of a client. At our centre, we provide all 3 aspects. All this is offered in sessions lasting 50 mins each. Usually, clients need 5-15 sessions to observe improvement. The sessions are initially once or twice a week, then fortnightly, then monthly, and finally adhoc. Our clients who benefited 100% in these aspects have undertaken atleast 15-30 sessions with us over a period lasting up to a year.
Yes, we provide educational material for self-help. We also practise and provide alternative and holistic therapies and treatments; however, they are more expensive and time consuming. Sometimes, if the severity of illness is more, medications are essential.
Hardly 10% of medicines used to treat mental illness causes dependence. The higher the dose needed, the longer the requirement for medicines, more likely is the need to reduce the dosage slowly before stopping. Follow up with the treating doctor is essential as advised. Combining self-help, with medicines, is the optimum method to reduce likelihood of hospital admission and reducing the duration of needing medicines for treatment.
All known medicines in medical health are known to be associated with side effects. Researchers and companies developing these medicines should by law declare the side effects known to occur in individuals. However, serious side effects are rare. Most minor side effects can be managed by reducing the dose, changing the medicine, or short-term use of other medicines to overcome the temporary side effects. The body adjusts to the new medicines without side effects over the first few weeks of treatment with medicines. We practise holistic healthcare where other supplements improve outcomes and reduce side effect burden of medicines; but they are more expensive. We also provide whats app text or recorded voice message service to our registered clients as a premium service to quickly resolve these issues, without needing to come to the clinic for frequent follow up to overcome medication side effects. The final responsibility of side effects to medicines are related to the company’s manufacturing the medicines and the research evidence available regarding the side effects. Doctors can try to respond to the reported side effects and deal with them in the best possible manner. Gastrointestinal problems (nausea or vomiting, acidity, loose motions, constipation), sleep issues, concentration and memory, restlessness, dizziness, weakness and fatigue, loss of motivation and temporary reduced ability to undertake tasks; are the most common reported side effects. Medicines will not alter your thoughts or change you as a person. It will remove the annoying unwell aspects of your brains functioning.
Home care supports include cook, cleaner, nanny, elderly care, child care, pregnancy care, etc. Home healthcare is often provided by health care assistants who are based in the clients house part time or full time. If the medical care needs are more, even nurses can be placed part time or full time for providing home health care. Our service adds further layer of visiting nurses, technicians, other physical health specialists like physiotherapy, technician etc OR mental health specialists like psychologists, SALT, special educator, social worker etc.
We provide habilitation (learning new skills) and rehabilitation (recovering lost skills after medical conditions or injury), in a step wise monitored manner with multidisciplinary team under the oversight of psychiatrist and doctor; adhering to good medical practise and care. We provide realistic interventions and guidance, reduce carer burden, enhance care outcomes, improve quality of care in this segment of medical & mental health care. We are not aware of another locally accessible health care provider delivering this rigour and quality of health and mental health care in the community & at home.
We are the only centre in Bangalore that provide 20 mins - 2.5 hrs appointment slots to our clients. The cost of consultation depends on the duration you have booked for. The cost of medicines and other products can vary by requirement and duration of treatment needed. Most clients are unhappy with receiving less time with the treating doctor or clinician; however, they are reluctant to pay a higher fee for longer duration of assessment and discussion. We provide 34 mental health care pathways and caring home healthcare interventions with specialised healthcare visitors, we provide holistic and alternative therapies as integrated treatments with western medicines and therapies, we provide personalised medicine which factors your narrative and circumstance, and your expectations. We integrate brain, body, circumstances, mind, life styles, in our approach to treatment. All this is possible due to our commitment to provide excellent care; but also involves higher costs BUT ensures better outcomes. Please do accept briefer care if your engagement level is low or you have reservations to value mental health services and its costs, due to your circumstances.
Please check and sign our fee note explanation sheet before your first consultation with us by arriving 30 mins before schedule at the clinic. We have observed that people spend lakhs of rupees for medical and surgical consultations, investigations, and treatments; however, they are reluctant to spend some thousands of rupees for recovering their mental health. Clients should expect at least a month to a year of recovery effort as mental health recovery is a slow process and depends on the client’s engagement, complexity & duration of underlying problems, knowledge and skills of the treating professionals, willingness to pay for services, and available supports from friends and family.
It is an unfortunate bias in our society with stigma to mental health and, minimal provision of out-patient insurance by companies, and the less importance placed by individuals on their brain and mind when compared to other parts of their body or not recognising that their mind is unwell currently or wanting to self-heal. We respectfully inform you that brain and mind decide your life and livelihood. We are at par in our fee for treatment time provided by any centres in Bangalore.
If you or your family member is unfortunately suffering from long standing untreatable mental health problems or disability, we will quickly inform you of these findings as to not waste any more of your time, resources, or money. We will suggest more practical and pragmatic problem meeting measures to deal with long term issues. We will endeavour to enhance quality of life of the client based on their limited abilities or defined disabilities.
Our home and community health care costs are based on the number of different professionals needing to provide care and their visiting durations to maintain health at home. The costs would add our travel and coordination expenses and the technology costs required to sustain reasonable quality of care.
We are a highly specialised polyclinic and do not provide hospitalised care. Based on your location, we will liaise with the nearest mental health hospital serving your needs and provide continuity of care and liaison with the hospital. This allows optimisation of your expenses while improving outcomes. We also consider your expectations and willingness/ability to pay and recommend the best suited admitting hospitals. This process is separately charged as fee for service.
